Luka Rocco Magnotta linked to grisly 2011 cold case killing in Quebec

MONTREAL Police in the Quebec town of Gatineau will examine evidence gathered against Luka Rocco Magnotta for a possible connection to a grisly 2011 murder that has since stumped detectives.

A spokesperson for the Gatineau force said it would contact Montreal police shortly to see whether any link exists between Magnotta and the killing of Valerie Leblanc.

Sgt. Jean Paul Lemay stressed it was routine procedure for police to look for connections given the distinct nature of both crimes.

Leblanc’s body was discovered with severe head trauma and was also burned.

Montreal police said today they have been in contact with law enforcement officials from across North America, raising the possibility Magnotta could yet face more charges.

Police revealed today that Magnotta is alleged to have eaten parts of his victim and that they are still searching for missing body parts, including a head and two limbs.

Montreal Police Cmdr. Ian LaFreniere said police have not been able to find the head and the right hand and foot belonging to the victim, Jun Lin, 33.

Cafe employee Kadir Anlayisli flagged down a Berlin police car, and soon seven police officers would enter the cafe and make the arrest.
